About me…

My passion as a counselor is to ensure my client’s are “heard”. As a therapist, I have found that the most important aspect in a counseling relationship is to truly listen to my clients’ stories and allow them a safe place to share without judgment. I recognize that every person I encounter is a unique individual and their needs will be unique as well. I seek to develop a plan of care that is individualized upon their specific needs, desires and goals. I have found that the best therapeutic relationship is one in which the client is an active participant in their care planning and that implementation of that plan comes to fruition through a collaborative effort.

Regarding my professional experience…

I have had the most fortunate opportunity to work for a large, not-for-profit community agency where I have had exposure to many aspects of behavioral care that has consisted of a holistic approach tailored to the individual. I am so grateful for my diverse experience as was afforded the opportunity to help many whose challenges have ranged from serious, persistent mental illness, to those that were struggling with the challenges of the day to day and simply needed temporary support and guidance to reset their sails and move forward in a new, healthier direction. It is also with this agency that I acquired experience with those that struggle with substance dependence or dual-diagnosis situations. Currently, I am dually licensed with the State of Texas as both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as a Licensed Chemical Dependence Counselor (LCDC).

About you…

My belief is that the counselor/counselee relationship works at its best when it consists of an alliance between both parties. In the therapeutic relationship, we will pull from a diverse mix of sound, empirically proven strategies such as, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Therapy, as well as Trauma-Focused Therapy to create a personalized plan of treatment designed specifically for you. I have found that the therapeutic relationship is one that works best when it is a collaborative process that invites the client to be an active participant in their own treatment.
